Infiray (iRay) JerryC Clip On Thermal Imager (COTI)

The JerryC Clip On Thermal Imager easily attaches to existing night vision devices (NVDs) to add thermal detection capabilities by overlaying a thermal image on top of the analog image intensified image.  It really is that easy to have a fusion system.  Beyond the attractive pricing, the JerryC is also an upgrade to former COTI systems with a large field of view (FOV) and two power options.

Model Differences: C2 vs CE2 vs C5 vs CE5

The C2 and CE2 models of the JerryC Clip On Thermal Imager (COTI) have a 384×288 resolution and 20° field of view (FOV) which means the thermal image will cover the center 50% of the night vision image.  The C5 and CE5 have a 640×512 resolution and a 30.5° FOV, which means the thermal image will cover the center 76% of the night vision image.  C models take an internal battery and an optional (not included) battery pack.  CE models come with a remote battery pack, and that is the only way to run the unit.  So basically…

A common complaint of clip on thermal imagers is the additional weight it adds to host systems and the limited battery life. The JerryC’s CE devices solves both of these problems by eliminating the onboard battery compartment, moving the power source to a larger external battery pack (included), reducing frontal helmet weight and offering over 8 hours of continuous battery life. NOTE: the JerryC battery pack accepts rechargeable 18650 flat-top batteries.

The current JerryC model allows users to calibrate the location/offset of the thermal image so that they can line up the analog night vision and thermal images perfectly. In addition, the JerryC “remembers” the orientation/settings from the last time the unit was on, even with the power disconnected.

Warranty:  3 years against manufacturing defects resulting in product failure during normal use.  This means you can’t return it for warranty repair with a bullet stuck in the objective lens.
